Global entertainment / Paid search intelligence

Turning fragmented demand into a clearer acquisition signal.

A leading global entertainment company needed to accelerate customer acquisition across multiple accounts and markets, without compromising a stringent return-on-ad-spend requirement.

01 / Business context

The scale made the opportunity, and the problem, larger.

The company operates more than 50 resorts and casinos across four continents. It manages more than $10 million in Google Ads spending across several accounts, with demand shaped by destination, property, travel occasion, entertainment interest, geography, and customer value.

The commercial objective was growth with discipline: acquire more customers and revenue while continuing to meet a strict ROAS target. MotiveMetrics supported the acquisition environment outside bid management, including account and campaign structure, keyword management, and ad-copy management.

02 / The acquisition problem

Activity was visible. Meaning was not.

The bidding system could only optimize against the environment it received. If account structure fragmented related demand, keyword organization weakened context, or ads failed to reflect the intent inside each group, bidding automation would learn from incomplete or conflicting signals.

The opportunity was therefore larger than a bid adjustment. MotiveMetrics needed to improve the interconnected environment around the bids so publisher AI could identify, evaluate, and reach valuable demand more effectively.

03 / The intelligence questions

Before changing the system, MotiveMetrics needed to understand it.

  1. 01

Which search activity represented the most valuable customer-acquisition demand?

  2. 02

How should campaigns, keywords, and ads be organized so each element communicated the same intent?

  3. 03

Where was fragmentation reducing relevance or limiting access to qualified demand?

  4. 04

Could the company expand reach and revenue while preserving its ROAS requirement?

04 / The intelligence applied

Different intelligence capabilities. One connected decision.

The work predates today’s MotiveMap architecture. Viewed through the current model, the outcome came from connecting these forms of intelligence, not applying an isolated optimization.

01

Traffic Intelligence

Distinguished the composition and value of demand entering a complex portfolio of entertainment accounts.

02

Purchase Intent Intelligence

Interpreted the reasons behind search activity so keywords could be organized around coherent customer objectives.

03

Structure & Targeting Intelligence

Translated demand understanding into account and campaign structures that produced clearer signals.

04

Content Intelligence

Aligned ad language with the intent represented by each keyword and structural context.

05

Publisher Intelligence

Considered how Google would interpret relationships among demand, structure, keywords, content, and response.

06

Performance Intelligence

Measured whether greater reach and engagement translated into revenue without weakening ROAS.

05 / What changed

Intelligence became a clearer signal.

Understanding alone does not change performance. MotiveMetrics translated it into a more coherent acquisition environment, giving people greater control and publisher AI better inputs.

01

Reorganized account and campaign structures around more coherent demand relationships.

02

Improved keyword management so search language lived in a more relevant context.

03

Aligned ad copy with the intent represented inside each group.

04

Managed structure, keywords, and content as one interconnected signal environment.

05

Allowed bidding strategies to operate on stronger upstream inputs while retaining the company’s ROAS constraint.

06 / The outcome

Better signals produced better business outcomes.

After MotiveMetrics was introduced, search impression share increased 75%, average click-through rate doubled, and revenue increased 22% while the company maintained its stringent ROAS target.

The combination matters. The company accessed more demand, generated substantially stronger engagement, and converted that activity into additional revenue without abandoning the economic standard governing acquisition.

07 / Why it worked

The system became easier for machines to interpret, and more useful to people.

The documented work connected account structure, keyword management, and ad-copy management around a common acquisition objective. Our current interpretation is that this created a more coherent signal environment for Google’s automation.

Bidding did not operate in isolation. It benefited from keywords placed in a more relevant structure, content better aligned with customer intent, and performance feedback generated by stronger engagement. Improving those upstream relationships gave publisher AI better evidence about which demand to reach and how the advertiser should compete for it.

Bids determine what an advertiser is willing to pay. Intelligence improves the environment that determines what the publisher believes the opportunity is worth.

The larger story

Performance is the outcome.
Intelligence is how we get there.

MotiveMap connects people, market, acquisition, publisher, and governance intelligence to identify opportunity, improve signals, and guide governed action.
